Moodle Essentials Training

Create interactive and engaging online classrooms.

In this workshop, you will learn how to create an online course, highlighting some of the features that are new to Moodle 3.4 along the way. You will learn how to construct a course in which students can access resources, submit assignments, take assessments, join online discussions, and more. You will learn how to customize a course shell for a specific course by adjusting the layout, adding resources, and including activities. We will explore some best practices to help you get the most out of Moodle.
Although there are no pre-requisites for participation in this course, a basic knowledge of digital media would be an asset. This knowledge includes turning-on a digital media device, logging into a digital media device, accessing programs and applications, saving files to the hard disk, external storage media and cloud storage, accessing the Internet and email etc.

Participants are required to have access to a personal computer/ tablet and the Internet. To enable effective participation in this course a combination of open-source software, shareware and online media authoring tools will be used. These resources were chosen primarily for ease of use, because they are free, and because they represent current trends in media use and authoring.
